My husband and I share our home with our little fur baby boy dog, a miniature dragon (crested gecko), and plenty of fish that are all full of spunk and keep us on our toes. We lost our little girl dog (on the left) and miss her every day. Our family loves traveling in our RV and being out in nature.
During my time with Iowa State University I studied abroad in Costa Rica, visiting locations such as La Selva Biological Station and Arenal Volcano, and embracing the history and culture. It fostered my love for big green leafy plants, and opened the door to some amazing possibilities.
While at Creighton University I fell in with with the Outdoor Adventure Club. One of the best times of my life was hiking The Needles in the backcountry of Moab, Utah. As a novice hiker this gave me the chance to explore a totally new environment, and my love of big rocks.
The most amazing adventure of my life was visiting Kenya with my family where we explored Lewa Conservancy, Amboseli National Park, the Masai Mara National Preserve, and the Ngorongoro Crater. There I met amazing people, including my rafiki Murithi, who founded the Rays of Hope Health Unit. I was also given the unique opportunity to feed a two month old Black Rhino, a critically endangered species.
